GdS: Piatek wants to stay at Milan regardless of Ibrahimovic; formation change possible

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek wants to stay at the club regardless of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s potential return, according to a report.

Ibrahimovic is Milan’s main target for the January transfer window, as owners Elliott Management have acknowledged the need to add firepower, leadership and experience in one swoop.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews.it) then reported that Ibrahimovic and Milan are getting closer and closer in terms of offer and request, while il Corriere della Sera reported that the dream of the Rossoneri leadership is to present Zlatan on December 15.

This has thrust the future of Piatek into doubt, as the Poland international has just one goal from open play all season so far.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Piatek could end up on the market if the Swede does return.

Despite this, the 24-year-old apparently wants to stay at all costs to play for his place, and a formation change to a 3-4-1-2 – already tried by Pioli in training – cannot be ruled out.
