GdS: Pioli and Rangnick could work together at Milan next season – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

The possibility of Ralf Rangnick and Stefano Pioli co-existing at Milan cannot be ruled out at the moment, according to a report.

The latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday (via MilanLive) confirms that Rangnick will join the Rossoneri this summer on a three-year contract and with an option for a fourth year. The agreement is armoured and also provides for a penalty in case of non-filing of the contract, starting from 1 July.

The goal will be to return to the Champions League, and to reach it Rangnick will likely be able to bring in key figures who know Serie A wekk. But also pay attention to possible developments and twists related to the bench.

However, the paper adds that the idea of Rangnick and Stefano Pioli working together is a hypothesis that should not be overlooked.

This would of course mean that Pioli would remain on the bench as head coach and Rangnick would take over as sporting director, replacing the trio of Zvonimir Boban, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara who seem destined for the exit door at present.
