GdS: Pioli fond of Calhanoglu but expects more – main flaw identified

By Isak Möller -

This season, it has become clear that AC Milan have some major issues in attack. The numbers confirm it, as the Rossoneri have only scored 28 goals in 26 games while conceding 34 goals in the same period.

As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), in addition to the striker, Stefano Pioli also expects more from Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turk has scored five goals between the league and Coppa Italia.

However, he has also missed a lot of shots and sits in first place of shots taken by Milan players this season. According to data from Opta (via SempreMilan), Calhanoglu has fired 48 shots in 23 league games, finding the back of the net just three times.

The manager is very fond of the player, since he adds a lot to the Rossoneri’s game, but the main flaw is clear. Now it’s up to Calhanoglu to improve his stats, showing off a better side ahead of next season.
