GdS: Pioli not giving up on Milan job – his three secret weapons to reach Europe

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has no intention of giving up early despite the various rumours in the media suggesting he will be replaced at the end of the season.

According to Monday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli’s future seems to be already written as Ralf Rangnick looks on pole to be the club’s next manager, but the current boss wants fight until the last minute of the last league game to bring Milan back into Europe.

Pioli knows well that if he wants to have at least one chance of being confirmed in his place, qualifying for a European competition is essential.

The paper claims that there are three weapons that Pioli will use to face the last part of the season: first of all, he will focus heavily on the strong empathy that has been created with the Rossoneri squad. The Milan manager has created an excellent feeling with all the players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Just after the arrival of the Swede in Milanello, Pioli has changed formation and now he will go on to focus on the 4-2-3-1 seen in the last few games before the break due to the Coronavirus emergency.

In addition, Pioli will rely on several of his loyalists: among these are Hakan Calhangolu – who can finally play in his natural role of attacking midfielder – Samu Castillejo and of course Ante Rebic.
