GdS: Pioli ponders Origi’s role – he and Giroud could play together

By Oliver Fisher -

Divock Origi should be AC Milan’s first signing of the summer window and they are banking on his versatility, according to a report.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) begins by confirming that Origi will undergo medical examinations early next week before officially signing his contract with Rossoneri, leaving Liverpool after over half a decade of service.

While waiting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return in January 2023, Stefano Pioli will have to manage Olivier Giroud an the Belgian well. The season will be long and there will be no lack of opportunities for both to show what they are capable of.

In Milan’s plans at the moment, Origi is considered a centre-back to alternate with the former Chelsea man, but pay attention to the hypothesis of them playing together based on his past at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp often used Origi as a winger meaning he could start wide on the right or even be a back up for Rafael Leao on the left (where there is also Ante Rebic), so some interesting indications could come from preseason.

  1. Diaz is gonna return to real and it’s better this way because we are gonna regret if we are growing him more because real can take him back for only 7mill more than our release clause of the loan so this is just to make an article

  2. Original started out on with Lille at RW
But could get the space in Liverpool so he played on rw and striker

Milan can use him as RW
    Has speed and talent

This will all studied by Pioli in pre season

  3. Whatever the situation Giroud will be a key player again this season …I think the season will be a good one again for AC Milan …the talent and the experience of Olivier can be paramount..I expect him to score as many goals again this season ,possibly more .
So roll on the new season .
