GdS: Pioli to rely on his protagonists with just one point needed against Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium tonight looking to secure a top four spot, which they would be able to do with a draw.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) speaks about the magnitude of tonight’s game in Turin, with it being an absolute must-win for Juve while Stefano Pioli’s side know that a point will be enough to secure top four.

It is exactly 20 years since that final in Old Trafford between the two sides, and tonight’s game will also have some Champions League significance, but it is a last chance saloon for Juve after their points deduction and 4-1 defeat at Empoli.

Milan have generally been at their best this season with their backs to the wall, and tonight Pioli will remain loyal to the 12-13 players that have guided the team through the various tough moments.

Brahim Diaz is one of them, having scored against the Bianconeri both at home earlier this season and in the 3-0 win back in 2020-21. Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao are the two top scorers, and their goals will be needed if a top four spot is to be sealed with a win.
