Head coach Stefano Pioli is waiting for a call from AC Milan over the extension of his contract having snubbed interest from Spurs, a report claims.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli said no to a proposal from Tottenham who targeted him after they sacked Jose Mourinho, who of course has now ended up back in Serie A with Roma.
The idea of taking the Rossoneri higher and higher fascinates Pioli more than anything else and that is why he decided to continue his journey with the club. Now, Pioli is waiting – without any rush – for a call from Casa Milan to renew his contract expiring in a year.
The paper adds that Pioli earns a €2m-a-year salary making him the worst paid coach among the top clubs in Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri is the best paid Serie A coach earning €8m-a-year with Juve, while Mourinho (€7m-a-year), Maurizio Sarri and Simone Inzaghi (around €4m-a-year each) and Luciano Spalletti (€3m-a-year) follow him.
