GdS: Probable Milan XI to face Empoli – Jovic and Okafor to start

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Empoli tomorrow afternoon and after the win against Lazio last weekend, the Rossoneri will be looking to put pressure on Juventus once again. As per a report, Stefano Pioli is expected to make a few XI changes.

Milan didn’t have the best of games against Slavia Praha, nor against Lazio, but at least managed to build some confidence with the wins. Given the tight schedule, Pioli is preparing to make some changes to the XI, as per Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo).

Davide Calabria will replace the suspended Alessandro Florenzi at the back, while Malick Thiaw or Fikayo Tomori will partner up with Matteo Gabbia at the back. The midfield has not been decided yet, but the feeling is that Ismael Bennacer and Tijjani Reijnders could be the starters.

Up front, Rafael Leao is suspended and Noah Okafor will thus take his spot, while Luka Jovic should replace Olivier Giroud in the No.9 role. Samuel Chukwueze is in the running for a starting spot but Christian Pulisic, especially given the goal last time out, could be given the nod again.

In short, some expected changes from Pioli who doesn’t want a repeat of the Monza rotation mistake.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw/Tomori, Gabbia, Hernandez; Bennacer, Reijnders; Pulisic/Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Okafor; Jovic.

    1. yeah Amrabat the guy that passes to the opposition on a regular basis and has been garbage for Man Utd this season

as if we learnt nothing from getting Bakayoko

      1. woman united is sh#t team any player in that team is awful because of no game plan every player tries to do his own style I’m sure amrabat is what we need

  1. Pulisic is better than Chuck and Leao is better than Okafor, though Okafor still gets his chances.
I still think Pulisic can be at RLC position and let Chuckweze play on the wing.
He can be a great player but he clearly lacks confidence.

  2. The Okafor-Jovic-Chukwueze from the get-go never worked. If Jovic and Okafor are a must, we should at least have Pulisic with them.
