GdS: Probable XIs for Atalanta vs. Milan – one change expected from Udinese win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is currently thinking of making only one change to the starting line-up for the game against Atalanta compared to the side that beat Udinese.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the current plan is for the same defence of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez to be fielded ahead of Mike Maignan.

With Sandro Tonali now back to full fitness he should slot in the midfield in place of Rade Krunic next to Ismael Bennacer as the only change to the team that beat Udinese.

Junior Messias, Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao should therefore form the attacking trident behind the centre-forward Ante Rebic, fresh from a brace against the Friulians.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Díaz, Leao; Rebic.

Probable Atalanta XI (3-4-1-2): Musso; Toloi, Okoli, Djimsiti; Hateboer, De Roon, Koopmeiners, Maehle; Pasalic; Muriel, Zapata.

  1. Why not put Rebic on RW, then bring in giroud.

I still don’t like the idea of Diaz…….this is not a strong line up, not when Atalanta is starting with both Muriel and zapata

  2. Kossy – Rebic ASKED not to be played on the RW a few years ago. He doesn’t enjoy it.

Junior Mint should not be starting. Neither should salad maker.

Start CDK at RW and sell salad maker. Diaz & Adli can play at AM and CDK can move back too.

Milan needs a RW badly and Junior Mint & the Saladmaker are poorly skilled players for a team competing at the top of Europe. Salad can’t get a pass or shot on target and Junior Mint can’t play defense (at all) and falls over if someone in the stands sneezes.
