GdS: Rebic to start vs. Lecce as Pioli sticks with same system – battle for key spot

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is still considering who to play behind Ante Rebic for Monday’s trip to face Lecce, according to a report.

The Serie A season will officially get back underway for the Rossoneri as they make the trip south to face Lecce on Monday night, but they will make the journey without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic – something which creates problems for Pioli.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan will take to the field with Ante Rebic as the centre-forward with Rafael Leao to be snubbed again, despite the Croatian’s reckless red card during Friday’s cup exit against Juventus.

The formational will once again be a 4-2-3-1 with two of the three in behind Rebic already decided as Samu Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu will play on the right and left respectively.

However, Pioli has yet to decide whether Giacomo Bonaventura or Lucas Paquetà will complete the trio in the trequartista role. The Brazilian has struggled for form in recent month, but Jack’s days at the club are numbered.
