AC Milan could firm up their interest in Lyon star Memphis Depay, a report claims, with Ante Rebic’s future at the club now uncertain.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday (via MilanLive), Rebic’s stay at Milan is in doubt due to the not exactly idyllic past relationships between the Croatian and Ralf Rangnick.
Despite the fact the Croatia international has scored seven goals since the Christmas break which makes him the club’s top scorer, the paper claims he does marry Rangnick’s football philosophy.
As a result, the Rossoneri are ready to step up interest in Netherlands international Memphis Depay as his possible replacement, a player repeatedly linked over the past couple of years.
Rangnick approves the profile of Depay, despite having characteristics and qualities very different from those of Rebic and the pursuit of the former Manchester United man seems possible.
Lyon need to make money after the early closure of the Ligue 1 season, which has entailed both economic damage to the club and has essentially confirmed they will miss out in UEFA competitions next season.
