GdS: Reijnders to Milan ‘a matter of time’ – AZ’s response to latest bid awaited

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan continue to move closer to the signing of Tijjani Reijnders and AZ Alkmaar are now planning for life without him, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) this morning, any day from today could be the one where Milan manage to agree a deal for Reijnders, who is ‘increasingly distant’ from AZ Alkmaar and ever closer to the Rossoneri.

Yesterday he did not take part in the friendly match between Alkmaar and Standard Liège, training on the sidelines on another pitch instead, all while hoping that he will soon get word that he can catch a flight to Italy.

Stefano Pioli wants him at the centre of a new-look midfield and he is seen as the ideal reinforcement for the department. The offer was recently raised to €20m plus €5m bonuses to meet AZ’s request of €25m.

The distance between the clubs is minimal. The Dutch side would like the entire amount in a single payment, Milan would like to divide between the fixed part and bonuses linked to performances.

The answer to the latest Rossoneri proposal has not yet arrived, while at Casa Milan they are waiting without too much anxiety. The feeling is that ‘it is only a matter of time’ with AZ’s decision expected shortly.

Reijnders has resisted the attempts of Barcelona to change his mind and is trying to push for a move to Milan, having already accepted the contract offer worth €1.7m net per season.

  1. Hopefully we close this ASAP and get more reinforcement like
Dominguez, (Dia+Chukwueze) or (Taremi+Isaksen), and Pellegrini. In 10 days before going to America. Well one can hope

  2. My dream now is that Kessie comes and finishes what he started.

If he goes to Juve on a manageable salary I’m going to be p****d

  3. The Player’s will is a factor that can unlock this deal. We should get some positive news by close of today. Nicola Dominguez of course should be next. And our Striker. We should keep Cdk for the up coming season. No need to sell. The management should get rid of Players that are not needed and leave CDK to continue his growth.

  4. az Alkmar thought that the player named Tijjani was on par with Bennacer, even though Tijjani was only on par with Mark Klock

  5. Angelo Gabriel to Milan was only a matter of time. Now he is at Chelsea. Just watch him going to another club on the deadline day of the transfer window.

    1. No. He wasn’t. The interest was there but it’s never get to the point of “only a matter of time”. Milan hadnt even start negotiating about personal terms and transfer with Angelo, only enquiry.

If you read about that from any source, then that was fake news.

Besides Angelo is far too raw for us, we need more certainties for right wing.
