GdS: Roma have ‘strong interest’ in signing AC Milan midfielder in June

By Oliver Fisher -

Roma are interested in the idea of signing AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura on a free transfer, according to a report.

Bonaventura arrived from Atalanta back in 2014, and despite having been one of the most consistent servants to Milan over the last six years – scoring a number of important goals – his future at the club is now in serious doubt.

Calciomercato.com reported on Saturday that the road towards a contract renewal for the 30-year-old is ‘uphill’, with Fiorentina and Roma two clubs monitoring his situation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by Calciomercato.com – Bonaventura sees his future future further and further away from the Rossoneri.

The newspaper claims that there is a strong interest from Roma in the No.5 of Milan, a destination that he is unlikely to turn down if a renewal offer is not tabled by Milan between now and the end of the current campaign.
