GdS: Romagnoli decides to part with agent; Raiola makes his move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s star defender and captain has decided to split with long-time agent Sergio Berti, according to reports.

Romagnoli arrived at the Rossoneri from Roma in a €25million deal four years ago, and has gone on to amass over 120 appearances for the club, becoming one of the better signings in recent years.

The 24-year-old is considered one of the best centre-backs in Serie A, and was rewarded by being given the captaincy at the start of last season.

Recently, reports CM.it suggested that Premier League champions Manchester City are keeping an eye on Romagnoli given Aymeric Laporte’s injury.

La Gazzetta dello Sport did claim earlier in the year that Milan have made the player untouchable and would not sell him for any price, amid links with Manchester United and Juventus.

However, the latest news will worry Milan fans, as La Gazzetta reporter Nicolo Schira is reporting that Romagnoli has split from agent Sergio Berti.

Among those who could take his spot are Mino Raiola, Federico Pastorello, Beppe Riso and Alessandro Lucci, the journalist adds, while Romagnoli has asked for time to reflect.

Among the reasons for changing agent could be a disagreement about the player’s future, or the desire on his part to negotiate a better deal at Milan, or even – worryingly – a move away altogether.
