AC Milan and Inter are battling it out for the Scudetto as just two points separated them before this round and three games remain. For the city of Milan, the battle has been a big boost financially.
As stated by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the city of Milan has been able to recover from the financial damage created by the Covid-19 pandemic. And there’s no denying that the Scudetto battle between Milan and Inter has played a part.
In addition to selling a lot of tickets, thus also benefitting surrounding industries, Milan and Inter’s success in Europa has also helped with tourism. Engaging a lot of fans (thanks to good performances) usually has a positive domino effect, as seen here.
In the second half of 2021, per the newspaper, the Milanese industries accelerated and registered production levels that were 3.9% higher than in the period before Covid. A positive sign for the city which now also needs a new stadium.
