Three midfielders will leave AC Milan when their contracts expire in June, according to the latest reports.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are beginning to take stock of those who have a deal that runs out at the end of the season, and have reached a decision regarding three players.
Their report claims that midfield trio Riccardo Montolivo, Andrea Bertolacci and Jose Mauri will all be allowed to leave and will not be offered fresh terms.
Montolivo is the longest-serving of the group, having made 158 appearances for Milan in all competitions over a nine-year spell. However, he is 34 years of age and has not yet made a single appearance in any competition this season.
Bertolacci arrived from Genoa in summer 2015 and did so with big expectation given his €20million fee, however he has never really settled in, and he does not feature in the club’s vision for the future.
Mauri meanwhile is in his fourth year at the club, but he has made just 20 appearances in all competitions having signed on a free transfer from Parma. He is another who has been left behind by Milan’s new-found momentum.
