GdS: Time running out for Calhanoglu – renewal more likely as Qatar offer is unattractive

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expecting a response from Hakan Calhanoglu soon and the situation is beginning to suggest a renewal is more likely, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Calhanoglu has not yet decided on his future despite the fact his deal expires on June 30. In the last few hours though the idea of a renewal with Milan seems to be a bit more likely, because the only other offer – one from Qatar – does not convince him.

Even though Al-Duhail offered €8m net per season it does not tempt Calhanoglu that much and he is therefore re-evaluating the offer from Milan, which would see him go from €2.5m net per season to €4m net per season. There have been rumours about other interested clubs, including Juventus, but in reality none of these have ever resulted in a concrete offer.

A great European Championships with Turkey could certainly attract some big names, but Milan have no intention of waiting for an answer. Time is running out and at the moment the Turkish player has only two offers in hand, and the moment will soon come to choose.
