GdS: Torino open talks with AC Milan over midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Torino have opened talks with AC Milan over a move for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport claims.

Calhanoglu has shown his versatility to Marco Giampaolo in preseason, being deployed both as a left-sided mezz’ala and even somewhat surprisingly as a regista, a position he did well in.

However, MilanNews.it have reported that the Turkey international is behind Lucas Paqueta in the pecking order, meaning he could be set for reduced game time this season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently claimed that the 25-year-old is assessing his options ahead of the new season and has several admirers in the Bundesliga.

However, the paper have provided an update on Sunday (as transcribed by PianetaMilan.it) by claiming that fellow Serie A side Torino are now interested in Calhanoglu.

La Gazzetta state that the Granata have created a shortlist of wingers to consider before the transfer window shuts, including Kamano of Bordeaux and Berardi of Sassuolo.

On that list is Calhanoglu, despite the fact he is more comfortable as a No.10 or a midfielder, though he does have experience playing out wide.
