GdS: From Jovic to Reijnders – when Milan’s internationals will join the squad

By Oliver Fisher -

Paulo Fonseca has most of the squad available to him at the start of preseason on Monday but he will have to wait a little while longer for various internationals to return.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Fonseca continues to work on his new Milan away from prying eyes after the perimeter fence was erected to prevent giving too much away to journalists.

These are the first days of preparations for the Portuguese coach, with a reduced squad due to the commitments of the Rossoneri internationals. The first to join the group will be Luka Jovic, who exited with Serbia in the group stage of the European Championship. His probable return to Milanello will be on July 23.

Only during the American tour will the coach have some of the team’s top players back. Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah – returning from the Copa America – will join the rest of the group in the USA and will be available for the first friendly match of the tour against Manchester City.

Rafael Leao and Noah Okafor are also expected in the United States and could be available to feature against Real Madrid and Barcelona. The last to return will be Tijjani Reijnders, Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan, expected at the end of the tour or immediately after.
