GdS: Probable XIs for Milan vs. Lecce – four changes from Napoli tie

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will be up against Lecce at 18:00 and Stefano Pioli has seemingly decided his starting XI for the game. With the focus now fully on the league, the manager has decided to only make a few changes.

The Champions League priority is over, at least for now, and Milan need to bounce back in the league after two consecutive draws. Indeed, they need every win they can get between now and the end of the season to secure UCL qualification.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below), starting at the back, Pierre Kalulu will be on the right to replace the suspended Davide Calabria. Malick Thiaw will partner up with Fikayo Tomori in the centre and Theo Hernandez will start on the left as usual.

The midfield tandem will remain the same, but Junior Messias will replace Ismael Bennacer in the attacking trio, with Brahim Diaz moving into the centre. Finally, Ante Rebic will get the nod ahead of Divock Origi as Olivier Giroud is struggling with a calf injury.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali; Messias, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

Probable Lecce XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Baschirotto, Umtiti, Pezzella; Blin, Hjulmand, Oudin; Strefezza, Ceesay, Di Francesco.

  1. This would seem like a good opportunity to give vranxc and adli some minutes.
Whether from the start or coming on as subs.
It’s important for them and our starting midfielders have been working sooo hard recently
