Ralf Rangnick would take on a dual role at AC Milan and it would be highly unlikely that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would remain, according to one journalist.
The one constant theme at the moment in general appears to be uncertainty: both in the state of Italy as a country and the resumption (or non resumption) of the Serie A season due to COVID-19, and within the Rossoneri due to the various rumours doing the rounds about key figures.
There is various speculation suggesting that Rangnick will arrive in some capacity at San Siro this summer with some outlets claiming an agreement has been reached, while others believe Stefano Pioli could in fact remain due to the current Coronavirus emergency.
Meanwhile, there are also numerous rumours about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future and whether he will remain at Milan, retire or join another club.
German journalist Carsten Fuß spoke to Sky about the idea of Rangnick taking on a new challenge in Italy, and his words were transcribed by MilanLive.
“From what I know it was already done, honestly it would be a surprise if he doesn’t go to Milan. He wants to be both the coach and the technical director,” he said.
“As it has been talked about often, Rangnick at Milan would be a big hit. He would be both the coach and the sports director. Him and Ibrahimovic together? I see it hard, they are like the moon and the sun, marriage is impossible.
“They say Rangnick is mad, in fact he is ambitious, fixed on his goals. He prefers young teams, research to prospective talents like Werner. He does not like the elderly elements at the end of their career.”
