German report gives huge double boost to Milan, Arsenal and Man Utd in pursuit of Leipzig star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and other interested clubs have been handed a boost in their pursuit of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, a report claims.

It was reported by SportMediaset on Tuesday that Upamecano is part of a six-man wish list that Ralf Rangnick has identified ahead of potentially accepting a role at Milan this summer.

It is believed that Upamecano has a €60m release clause and is apparently attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United after an impressive season in which he has racked up 29 appearances in all competitions.

However, Bild now report that Leipzig are set to lower their demands for the 21-year-old from €60m to €40m due to the effects of the Coronavirus on football finances.

Meanwhile, the German outlet adds that Bayern have put their move for Upamecano on hold as they have changed transfer strategies, which is yet another boost for Milan who are apparently after a long-term partner for Alessio Romagnoli.
