Giampaolo believes ‘excellent’ Milan will decide Scudetto race and not Sampdoria

By Isak Möller -

Marco Giampaolo, the former manager of AC Milan, is back at Sampdoria and they will take on Inter at San Siro tomorrow evening. A game that is very important for the Scudetto race.

Milan are currently two points ahead of Inter and since they have H2H, they need just one point from their game against Sassuolo tomorrow. The Nerazzurri, meanwhile, need to win to keep the hope alive.

During his press conference ahead of Inter-Sampdoria (via Gazzetta), Giampaolo was asked if they are the deciders of the Scudetto. He made it clear that he thinks Milan will decide the matter, and not the Genoa-based side.

“If we are the judges of the Scudetto? No, in my opinion, the judges are Milan, who have two out of three results to play on. Not only that: Milan seem to be in great physical and mental condition, they arrive in excellent form.

“The calendar puts us in front of this intersection but, I repeat, I don’t think Sampdoria are the judges of this season. It remains a difficult match against a team [Inter] that isn’t just strong, but very strong,” he stated.

The games will kick off at 18:00 CEST and make sure to keep an eye on them both, even though Milan will do everything to finish the season on a strong note. Hopefully, the first Scudetto in 11 years will be clinched tomorrow.
