In recent months, a lot has been said about Santiago Gimenez and his future. However, he will now get the chance to play for AC Milan again.

For 144 days, Gimenez has been unseen in the Milan sphere, thanks to his injury. Now, though, he is ready to go again, and with this, he hopes to show what he can do for the Rossoneri, who are desperate for a striker to provide clarity.

Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic have been questionable up front, whilst Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug have offered little assurances of their abilities to lead the line. So, a big investment is expected.

Now, though, Gimenez has the chance to show what he can or can’t do to alter the plans.

Gimenez’s moment

As Corriere dello Sport, via MilanPress, reports, he has reassured everyone about his condition, he is ready, and he wants to prove himself. Through the international break, he will remain at Milanello to find rhythm once again.

Then, Massimiliano Allegri may choose to unleash him. Already, the Italian is convinced of his potential and ability to grow. Indeed, he believes he can be important in the decisive part of the season.

The future is on the line too; the Mexican wants to go to the World Cup, whilst he also wants to remain in Milano. Both can (and will) be decided in the next few months.

    1. The position is currently being played at the lowest it has ever been, so Gimenez has the benefit of doing the minimum and can get away with it for a while. He is a better passer than Leao or Fullkrug; he has a left foot he can finish with, and that is about it. He isn’t fast, and he isn’t a dribbler.

  1. There is a big opportunity in these final games if he can grasp it.
Nobody else is nailing down a starting spot in the forwards.

I thought he looked good in the final minutes v Torino.
