Tuttosport: Raising the bar with mixed profiles – Allegri, Tare and Furlani clear on mercato needs

A few days ago, AC Milan held a major meeting with Massimiliano Allegri, Giorgio Furlani, Igli Tare, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now, the discussions are filtering through.

For a while, it has been stated that Milan would have a meeting with Allegri towards the end of the season. Indeed, since the talk of him possibly leaving, there have been these suggestions of a ‘clarification’ opportunity.

Now, it has taken place, and the Rossoneri’s key figures appear to be on the same page with what is required this summer.

Summer security

As Tuttosport, via MilanNews, reports this morning, the quartet met in the past week, and it was immediately stated that there would ‘be more resources available’, thanks to the return to the Champions League.

With this money, the squad will be enhanced, both in terms of quality and numbers. However, Allegri has looked to make a few things clear.

He wants ‘high-calibre, experienced, ready players’, rather than relying on experiments. It is believed that four of five additions will be made to the current squad, perhaps more with any departures.

Some players for the future may arrive too, perhaps some names of unknown quantities – the likes of Andre and Karestas, perhaps. Though the focus will be clear. Improving the squad with known talent.

  1. A ambitious management would sack Allegri with his Anti football tactics and bring De Zerbi.
Then they would sell Tomori, Athekame, Estupiñán, RLC, Fofana and Gimenez. They would use that money + CL Money + Money from the players out on loan and buy Calafiori, Scalvini, Kayode, Udogie, Ederson, Goretzka, B. Silva, Vlahovic and Kean.
You would have a competitive and balances team where it dont matter if you play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 etc and this squad have depth and quality and with a coach like De Zerbi it would be fun to watch.

But sadly this management are not ambitious and Allegri gonna remain because he struggled to get top 4 when he should have win with this squad and no European football and eliminated from Coppa Italia and Super Cup early.
A boring Allegri gonna demand from the management that he wants players like Gatti etc

    1. Allegri has won 7 league titles, De Zerbi has been sacked because he couldn’t cut it at Marseille. Stop embarassing yourself.

  2. Who is really in charge of the mercato?
    Why is Furlani still here?
What is Moncada’s and ibra’s function?
    What is Tare’s job?
What decision making does Allegri actually have?
Why are the targets so random and disjointed?
    More questions than answers…

    1. There are no questions, all of their roles are well known.

Furlani runs the club, he signs the cheques on behalf of Cardinale.
      Moncada is a scout.
      Ibrahimovic is a spokesman.
Tare is the sporting director and identifies targets.
Allegri gives input, the same as every other coach.

  3. Read again I wrote with a coach like De Zerbi it would be fun to watch and I think 99% of everyone that watch football would say De Zerbi teams is more fun to watch then Allegri. You talk about 7 league titles Allegri won with Milan and Juve and the reason he got those titles was because Galliani have him a chance on a big club which De Zerbi haven’t got yet and Allegri should have at least 2 league titles with Milan but he lost the second because the way he used injured Thiago Silva and the Muntari ghost goal.
6 League titles with Juventus when Juve didn’t have competition in the league.
You say I’m embarrassing myself because Allegri have 7 league titles and I want De Zerbi instead but with that logic is to say you want Mourinho instead of let’s say De Zerbi, Fabregas, Arteta, Hürzeler etc because Mourinho have more titles than then.

  4. Only 4 or 5?! We are heading back into Europe. We cannot, i repeat, cannot compete on both fronts with a slim and often injured squad.

If their plan happens, we’ll miss out on CL again.

I will point to Nottingham Forest. Fighting against relegation because they weren’t squad ready for 4 competitions.

We better be ready to splash some cash or look out 12th place!
