On Sunday AC Milan will host Atalanta at San Siro, and Massimiliano Allegri is also evaluating some changes to his team.
After the defeat against Sassuolo continued a negative run of results, the pressure is on Milan to turn things around given they still require six points to get back into the Champions League. They have three games to get them, but they cannot afford any more slip-ups or panic will really set in.

Among the changes expected for the game against Atalanta, the attack is expected to be refreshed. Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that Santiago Gimenez should start for the first time in several months. His last start was on October 28th. The opponent: Atalanta.
From Atalanta to Atalanta
After that day, however, the Mexican striker’s ordeal began, as he was sidelined for a long time due to an ankle injury. Conservative therapy was initially attempted, but it didn’t work, and so in mid-December he underwent surgery to permanently resolve the problem.
He returned to the field against Torino on March 21, and then appeared in a few other snippets, but is yet to show anything of note. On Sunday, Gimenez will have a great chance from the start and prove he can still be useful to Milan in this final part of the season, and perhaps also the future.
The former Feyenoord star is without a goal in Serie A so far in 2025-26. He has scored just one goal this season in the Coppa Italia against Lecce, and he hasn’t found the net in the Italian top flight for a year.
The last time he scored was on 9 May 2025, a brace against Bologna. Since then, a long drought has taken hold, which Santi hopes to finally end on Sunday evening against Atalanta. He has the backing of Kaka, which is a good start.
