Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract renewal was announced by AC Milan yesterday and the Swede can now focus fully on his recovery. While there is still a long way to go, the striker already has a date in mind.
As soon as this past season came to an end, Ibrahimovic decided to undergo surgery in order to fix the knee that bugged him for the entire second half of the season. And in order to continue his career, it was a must.
According to today’s edition of Il Giornale, as cited by MilanNews, Ibrahimovic wants to be back for Milan’s Supercoppa Italiana clash against Inter. The game is scheduled for January 18 and that could work out with the 40-year-old’s recovery.
The initial prognosis suggested that he would be back at the start of 2023, meaning it’s certainly not impossible for him to make it back. We will know more once we get closer to that date, but at least for now Ibrahimovic has something to aim for.
