The future of Federico Chiesa continues to be the subject of mystery as he is still yet to find a new club despite being effectively banished by Juventus, but AC Milan have asked for information.
Il Giornale (via MilanNews) reports this morning that the fate of Chiesa is something that the Juve management are discussing at the moment and they are hoping for a solution to be found soon, given that he is not part of their plans.
When Thiago Motta arrived as the new head coach he made it clear that he does not see him as a good fit and for this reason the Italia forward was put on the market, yet at the moment there is no club in advanced talks.
Roma appear to be the hottest option as per the paper, while Milan have not gone beyond an inquiry at the moment. With Christian Pulisic moving to the playmaker role there is arguably now a spot on the flanks for Chiesa, but he would likely be a deputy and the salary he earns is high.
The 26-year-old has 32 goals and 23 assists in 131 games for the Bianconeri across all competitions, and he joined them from Fiorentina when Milan were also in the running to land him.

Loca was a depth piece at Euro’s at best. Second fiddle to Veratti/Jorginho/Barella.
Chiesa also won the Euro’s – doesn’t mean he’s the same player, but at least he has an excuse.
What’s the excuse for Loca’s lack of form/quality? He’s just not that good of a player.

Loca is not really better than anyone from the list of Reijnders, Bennacer, Fofana, Loftus Cheek. Why bring another mediocre guy?
Upgrade over Pobega, perfect cover for Bennacer, potentially if he plays well under Fonseca we won’t need to invest in Bennacer replacement… Ricci also an option, tbh both are talented registas and 1 season doesn’t make Lovatelly average or mediocre….
For 20-25mil you can have Fofana or like last year bought Pulisic. Quality players. Doesn’t make sense to pay that much for Locatelli.
Milan’s midfield is quite good quality (if Fofana comes). Imo Fofana, Reijnders, Bennacer are players that would be 1st squad players in every Serie A team. Loftus is a question mark, but maybe he will be in good shape this year. Then Musah is not great but still very young and has potential, and Pobega/Adli are mediocre. Doesn’t make sense to bring another mediocre guy for 20mil just so he would be 6/7th choice to play (replacing Pobega). If buying a midfielder, only when he would be a clear upgrade.
We can pay… It’s easy as that… 13M, 18M, 15M, 20M Ibra doesn’t spend on ST at least make so our midfield has 6 quality players and Zeroli for depth…
next year 1-2 defender (depends if Thiaw exits) and ST and we are done…
upgrade to Pobega is a really reallly reallly low bar. lol I like the kid, he was a Milan guy and debuted for us. But, He’s average and his ceiling has been reached.
Out of those 5 wingers only Leao is better then Chiesa. This is not about quantity but quality.

Reason cos there were moments when RL who’s supposed to be a leader was miss-firing, so chiesa can be a hope for Milan, also We all know that Morata has never been a savior in any club all through his carrier, hence we need a seasoned name to assist in this his old age Milan adventure, and finally chiesa can also assist Pulisic in the playmaker role which he’s untested and unproven to be efficient (let’s not forget that pulisic injury record isn’t pure) … So he (Chiesa) can really be maximally useful to Milan in attack, and is far better than All mediocer names we have as wingers (apart from Rafael)
Chiesa doesn’t have the legs to be a winger anymore after his ACL. That is the problem: there’s no longer a defined position for him. He’s sure as

Leao is Leao. There are literally about 2-3 wingers in serie A that could outperform him. Saladmaker is not on that list. Never will be.
Salemaekers is making it really difficult to offload him, more so than Adli. Gotta give him props. I still don’t think there’s room for him on the team, but hey, if Fonsy is asking for him to stay…

I would definitely take Chiesa, Leao and Chuck on the wings, Chiesa and Alexis backups, Pulisic will play nr 10 and Okafor striker. The problem is his salary, there is no way Milan pay him 6 mil, unless he takes a pay cut I don’t see this happening

Roma needs him. If they can offload Dybala to Saudia, they will pull the trigger on Chiesa. They would be an interesting team to watch this season.
