Olivier Giroud has fired back at suggestions he pretended to not speak English to avoid giving Australia striker Jason Cummings his shirt.
France and Australia faced off at the 2022 World Cup in Group D and Australia actually took the lead in the game before France stormed back for a convincing 4-1 win. Yesterday, Socceroos forward Cummings revealed that he tried to swap shirts with Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud but had no luck, with the latter even pretending to not speak English.
However, Giroud has hit back at those claims now showing that he did indeed manage to swap a shirt with St. Pauli midfielder Jackson Irvine.
Hi 👋🏼 @jacksonirvine_ How is my english mate? 🤣🤣🤣 🇫🇷❤️🇦🇺✊🏼 pic.twitter.com/McHQP30cCX
