AC Milan are very close to being able to announce the renewal of Olivier Giroud and a decisive meeting should take place in the next couple of days, a report claims.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), an important meeting should take place at Casa Milan either today or tomorrow between the Rossoneri management – Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara – and Giroud’s entourage.
The club for their part have always been clear that they want to extend Giroud’s current deal which expires in June, while the Frenchman has never thought of a future away from Milan either, as demonstrated by the fact Everton offered him a big contract to join their Premier League relegation fight at the end of last month but he refused.
The extension will be a one-year one, therefore until 2024, and there has also been talk of an option for an extra season. Giroud will earn the same figures that he currently collects which is around €3.5m net per season, so everything seems set for the signing that should arrive in the next couple of days.
