Hernandez one yellow away from suspension – the situation for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Theo Hernandez was booked in the clash against Lazio last night and this means he’s just one yellow card away from suspension. Fortunately, he’s the only player that has been so ‘reckless’ for AC Milan so far.

It was a rather unnecessary challenge from the Frenchman that resulted in a card last night and he will now have to be careful. Genoa are up next in the league and it’s possible that he could be rested, given that Juventus are next after the break.

Taking a look at the yellow cards standings at Milan, Hernandez is obviously at the top with four and then we have Malick Thiaw with three. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has two cards to his name but the rest of the players only have one. Of course, Fikayo Tomori got a so-called double yellow card and was sent off against Roma.

It remains to be seen if Stefano Pioli will play Alessandro Florenzi or Davide Bartesaghi on the left, should he decide to rest Hernandez. In any case, the latter will be an important player in the game against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

    1. 2 out of those were from his reaction after committing a foul, lol. He needs to work on his temperament, take Tomori for an example after his red card.

    1. On the opposite. Let him play against Genoa, get yellow and rest have florenzi and Calabria play. Its better to not have him against Juve then Napoli.

    2. I think he should play, but if Pioli wants him to rest, he should start Florenzi on that poision. Can’t underestimate Geneo, they are a decent side.

  1. I really like theo as he is one of my absolute favourite ac milan players but i could mention three things about him that kinda bothers me about him. He gets far to many unnecessary yelllow cards that often could be avoided, he sometimes dives too much and finally his hair coloring but the last one is a minor thing that at least doesnt affect his game 😀
Anyways good win yesterday and hopefully we can grab one against dortmund as well.

      1. Yeah i never been a fan of diving even if small freekicks are committed i kinda expect the players to keep fighting to retieve the ball till the referee blows his whistle instead of diving and complaining. Thats one of the few things i’ll generally credit a lot of premier league and bundes liga players to have a better mentality than serie a players often showcase because as long as ive been a serie a fan iits been a thinbg and always thought it was kinda weak display.

  2. He will pray no matter what, Genoa is a strong team now don’t underate them remember how they beat Roma if he get a yellow card flolenzi and Calabria can pray in his position GENOA 1-3 AC MILAN

    1. i dont think they are particularly strong. And everyone beats Roma this year. They are like 16th atm. 3 points are expected
