Theo Hernandez sets new record and shines for France – Milan fans happy and relieved

Theo Hernandez bagged yet another assist for France as he played from start against Denmark, a game which his side won by two goals to one. Meanwhile, AC Milan fans are both happy and relieved.

The 25-year-old came off the bench against Australia, due to his brother Lucas’ injury, and he responded with a nice assist for Adrien Rabiot. Earlier this evening, he got the chance from start and assisted Kylian Mbappe’s first goal.

As highlighted by Opta, it’s the first time a French defender has bagged an assist in two consecutive games at the World Cup since 1966 (when they started collecting the data). Milan fans knew it already, but now everyone knows just how strong he is.

It would be difficult not to name him as the best left-back in the world currently, and Milan fans can be very happy about that. Because as opposed to the Rafael Leao situation, the Rossoneri fans are able to fully enjoy the success of Theo.

The former Real Madrid man signed a new contract earlier this year (until 2026) and he has made it clear several times that he has no intention of leaving. Leao, on the other hand, while speaking highly of the club is yet to make a huge sacrifice.

Of course, we will have to wait until after the tournament to see the outcome of the Leao negotiation, but it’s far from certain unlike Theo’s situation. That’s why Milan fans are both happy and relieved while the left-back shines.
