Watch: Highlights of the Milan-bound Polish starlet Mateusz Skoczylas

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have secured the signing of 16-year-old attacking midfielder Mateusz Skoczylas. He’s a highly-rated talent but understandably so, the Rossoneri fans don’t know much about him.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Milan have reached an agreement with Zaglebie Lubin for the transfer of the Polish international. He’s expected to join the Primavera side and it will be very interesting to see him in action.

In the meantime, courtesy of Scout7Calcio, we can take a look at his highlights from his appearances with the Polish youth sides.

  1. Must say, I do like seeing how much we’re putting into the younger teams, especially compared to other clubs now. Would like to see more prospects we’ve built up make it into the 1st team soon

    1. But at the end they sell them for peanut ot make them leave on free compare to other Italian clubs, laliga and premier league clubs ta value their youth player and sell for u huge amount

    1. 27 Italians in the Primavera, and none are good, our best is Eletu, Stalmach and Zeroli who is Italian. Camarda is still too young so I don’t know what you are talking about when 27 out of 37 players in the Primavera are Italian. Rather keep quiet if you don’t know anything.

    2. Foreigners in the primavera are fine for UEFA squadlists as they will still count as “homegrown”

That is my main gripe with “too many foreigners” as we end up not maximising the squad places for continental competitions.

As for simply the national identity I’d love us to recreate Il Grande Milano of the 1990s but unfortunately Italian players aren’t so good, or are overpriced. I actually wanted Frattesi but agree with most of the forum here, that for 40mn he’s overpriced compared to other similar midfielders.

Likewise I’d love Scalvini to partner Thiaw in defence, that one might be possible next summer. But it’s not like the current Azzurri team is brimming with the next Baresi, Roberto Baggio or Zola. We had the next Buffon in Do$$arumma but 2bh Maignan is a better all-round keeper anyway.

A good Italian core might be ideal for team harmony but ultimately I just want players happy to fight for the shirt. That’s why guys like Origi or CDK frustrate, not purely because they are foreign but because there’s no fight. Likewise I loved Tonali not because he was the finished product but because on his way to improving he would give his all.

I hope we end up with some quality Italian players in future but for now I’ll take quality foriegners as long as they aren’t mercenaries. Leao is a good example. He could easily earn way more elsewhere but signed a long term contract.

Anyway, rant over sorry for the length.

      Forza Milan

  2. Where are these youngsters you speak of? There isn’t much quality out there, we probably have the best Italian youngster already in Camarda. The rest just aren’t good enough. Look at Zeroli he’s joining the first team, and probably soon. El Hilali is older than some first team players and wasn’t ready for even Serie B at the age 20. Out of all the players in the Primavera our best players are foreign and the majority of the squad is Italian, Victor Eletu, and Stalmach are both foreign and our best, we have 27 Italians in our Primavera squad so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

  3. He’s not talking, just complaining like so many here love to do.
As a lifelong Milan fan, which I am sure is longer than most on here have been alive, I don’t give a damn about the nationality of the players. Only if they are good or not. This is AC Milan, not the gli Azzurri.
