Ibrahimovic hoping for San Siro farewell but Pioli admits to uncertainty over condition

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are preparing for the last three games of the season which could decide the fate of many players, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be forced to watch on from the sidelines.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Ibrahimovic is continuing to work towards a full recovery from a calf problem that has kept him out of the last few games, and his aim is to be on the pitch at San Siro for the final round of the season against Verona for his final farewell.

He is currently doing individual work at Milanello with the hope of recovering and being called up for the last day of the season against that Gialloblu in what could be his last appearance in the Rossoneri shirt.

The Swede’s contract is about to expire and he could decide to leave Milan either to retire or to play for another team such as Monza.

Meanwhile, Pioli admitted that there is some uncertainty about whether he will make it back for the Verona game during his pre-match presser.

“He hasn’t returned to work on the field yet. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the last game,” he said.

  1. Even if he is injured, please allow Ibra a cameo in the last few minutes of the game. He deserves it.
Pioli was jealous and bitter to exclude Ibra from the Champion’s league. That’s where he should have played this season, not in serie A.
Ibra is responsible for Milan’s comeback, not Pioli
