CorSera: Ibrahimovic’s injury more serious than first hoped – at least a month out beckons

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s physical problem was not just some discomfort as everyone hoped, and now he is facing over four weeks out as per a report.

According to Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic returned from the preseason training camp in Sweden with what looked like a simple sore thigh but which, after tests, has turned out to be a muscle problem.

Not only that, but the journalist Carlos Passerini writes that the injury is quite serious and the recovery time is estimated to be around a month.

Not only will Zlatan miss the two Champions League games against Napoli because he was left out of the squad, but he will also be absent for the game on Sunday at the Maradona plus the league games versus Empoli, Bologna, Lecce and possibly Roma too.

After a knee operation and a nine-month rehabilitation process, it will no doubt be incredibly frustrating for the 41-year-old that he will have to sit out a month because of a muscle problem.
