Ibrahimovic tells Milan to ‘enjoy and stay focused’ during ‘fantastic’ UCL night – video

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has urged his team-mates to seize the opportunity on what will be a ‘fantastic’ Champions League night under the lights.

Milan will face off against Spurs in the Champions League last 16 just as they did in the 2010-11 season, this time hoping for a better outcome in the tie given Tottenham won 1-0 on aggregate 11 years ago.

Ibrahimovic will not be available for tonight’s game as he was left out of the Champions League squad following eight months months out post-surgery, and he spoke to Milan TV before the game.

“These nights are fantastic, Milan have a great history in the Champions League. You can see it in the fans, it’s an extra thing. Not everyone gets the chance to play in the Champions League, but it’s a fantastic moment that you have to enjoy and stay focused at the same time,” he said.

“Every game that comes is always a new game, you can’t compare it to the last game or with other teams: anything can happen, you have to believe in the game that comes because there are small details that make the difference.”
