MN: Ibrahimovic almost certain to miss fifth game in a row but Lazetic could appear vs. Udinese

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now almost certain to miss the game on Friday night against Udinese because he has not yet returned to training with the rest of the squad, a report claims.

MilanNews report that even today Ibrahimovic did not train with the rest of the squad at Milanello because he has not yet disposed of the discomfort in his Achilles tendon. That is why the Swede instead did more personalised work and, in all probability, will not be available to Stefano Pioli for Friday’s match against Udinese.

Presuming he is not available for the visit of Gabriele Cioffi‘s side, it will be the fifth game in a row that the 40-year-old has missed in the month of stoppage so far, after he was not there against Inter, Lazio, Sampdoria or Salernitana.

Olivier Giroud will therefore be asked to carry the weight of the centre-forward role again, unless Pioli has a different choice in mind such as Ante Rebic being the striker.

MilanNews are also reporting that Marko Lazetic trained with the squad after carrying out individual work for a few days in search of his best physical and athletic condition, so a call-up for Friday’s match at San Siro cannot be ruled out.

  1. Give Lazetic few mins in the match tomorrow let’s see what he’s got in his legs. I strongly believe the guy will become Vlahovic of Milan
