Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed his delight after it was officially announced that he has secured a return to AC Milan.

The Rossoneri announced the news via a statement on their official website, with the Swede having put pen to paper on a deal which will run until the end of the season, while it is being widely reported that there is the option for another season.

The Swede amassed 85 appearances and 56 goals in his first spell at the club from 2010-2012, winning the Scudetto and the Supercoppa Italiana in the process.

In a career which has seen him play for Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and the LA Galaxy, this represents the first time he has gone back to an old club.

Ibrahimovic will be in Milan on Thursday 2 January to take the medical tests necessary to fully complete the agreement, and he will then train with team-mates.

Upon his signing, he told the club’s official website: “I am returning to a club that I respect enormously and to a city that I love.

“I will fight with my teammates to change the course of this season and I will do everything to achieve our goals.”
