Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made the typically bold declaration that AC Milan will win the Scudetto this season.
The Rossoneri have certainly started the season in confident fashion having won six of their opening seven games to begin the Serie A campaign, which puts them in second place behind only Napoli who have won all seven.
The remarkable thing is that Milan have done all this without Ibrahimovic, who celebrated his 40th birthday over the weekend after Milan’s victory against Atalanta. He has been out injured with an Achilles problem since the Lazio win last month.
The editorial staff of the well-known television program Le Iene were at Ibra’s party on Sunday to ask him a few questions. Journalist Fabio Corti managed to get some of the usual jokes from him, which will be shown on air this evening on Italia Uno.
“How am I at 40? Well, I still feel young. Another year has passed but I only think about the field, I am ready to return. I had some muscle problems, but nothing major, it works out. Who wins the Scudetto? Sorry, which team does Zlatan play for? Milan, then Milan wins,” he said (via MilanLive).
The hope now is that the Swede could come back against Verona on October 16th.
