GdS: Inter striker Lukaku almost certainly out of clash with Milan

By Euan Burns -

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is almost certainly out of the Milan derby which takes place this weekend, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, it now seems to be 99% certain that Lukaku will not recover from his thigh injury in time to face the Rossoneri.

The two teams face each other on Saturday, September 3 and it will be the biggest game of the season for both teams so far. Lukaku picked up an injury in a training session two days after the Nerazzurri were beaten 3-1 by Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

It is a thigh strain and it was immediately clear that he will be out of the Cremonese game on Tuesday but the Milan derby was still a possibility.

His chances now seem to be gone and he will undergo extra examinations between today and tomorrow to try and assess the full extent of the injury.

  1. They have Dzeko, Lautaro, and Correa. So, they are still dangerous in the front.

Hopefully Rebic and Origi can recover cause Giroud can’t play for 2×90 minutes. There’s Lazetic though but i don’t think he’s ready for big match.
