Inzaghi jokes with Maldini about the true reason he joined Milan from Juventus – video

Pippo Inzaghi has joked that the real reason he joined AC Milan was to avoid playing against legendary defender Paolo Maldini.

Inzaghi and Maldini went on Instagram live together to talk about a number of different subjects, including the resumption of training, the present and also the future.

Inzaghi joined Milan from Juventus back in 2001, and revealed why he chose to do so while joking with the former Rossoneri a captain.

“Paolo, but do you know why I came to Milan? It was the only way to stop playing against you,” he said.

Maldini meanwhile was asked about his position and the difference from being a player. He made it clear that he won’t take a job elsewhere, perhaps hinting at a stay.

“Of course, when you are a footballer you have other weapons. The commitment on the field, being always available, punctual and precise. As a director, you have to conquer everything, you are less credible than when you set an example on the field.

“They are different ages, history matters and I’m sure that I will only be a director at Milan. I won’t do it anywhere else,” he stated.
