Jacobone: Lazio boss Sarri a big admirer of Milan forward Leao – possible axis emerges

By Oliver Fisher -

There is the possibility that Lazio and AC Milan will discuss a deal for Rafael Leao this summer, according to journalist Alessandro Jacobone.

It seems as though Leão’s future is yet to be written, as the Portugal U21 international is coming off the back of yet another season in which he alternated an excellent first half of the campaign with a poor return after Christmas. This has led to speculation that he could leave the club this summer for the right offer, with a number of mercato rumours doing the rounds.

According to the latest from Alessandro Jacobone on Twitter, new Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is a big admirer of Leao and Jorge Mendes – who was in Rome days ago – has a great relationship with Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

He adds that sources in Rome are talking about a potential market axis between the Rossoneri and the Aquile, which could fuel the rumours that Luis Alberto may come the other way.

  1. We should get this guy (Luis Alberto) at any costs instead of Vlasic or any other name. Hell of a player, perfect for that position, and comes with Serie A and Champions League experience.

He is at the right age and has the best number of assists every season, not to mention his knack of scoring some crucial goals in the big games.

Some kind of swap involving Leao would be great.

  2. Milan seems to cash Leao (25m), Hauge (12m), Pobega (15m), and Castillejo (8m) for around 60m to get more functional player with lower cost in left wing, and high quality players in AM and RW. I think its important for Milan to do smarter operation this summer without any mistakes like they did in Meite and Mandzukic cases. If Milan do a smart ways for AM and RW with high quality players, Milan will get score 10 for their summer transfer.
