This afternoon, a suggestion has been made about the big summer signing, Ardon Jashari, and whether he has a future at AC Milan.
With Luka Modric injured, a lot of responsibility fell on the shoulders of Jashari. However, his first game against Sassuolo did not go as hoped; he noticeably struggled through the game and the Italian papers were certainly not too kind with their ratings.
Jashari’s critics vocal
Corriere dello Sport, perhaps prematurely, have suggested that the signing already needs to be re-evaluated. The Swiss midfielder, as they write, is a problem. What should’ve been a relaunch and the start of the future instead was 90 minutes of needing the present.
He hasn’t proven to be up to the Rossoneri’s standards in his rare minutes this season and whilst it was always going to be tough to replace Modric, he didn’t show signs of being able to against Sassuolo.
Of course, it would be unfair to suggest that the performance was on him. After all, he is not Modric and he cannot be judged for that. Unless you spend the big, big bucks, you will struggle to find a player on the same level, if you even can.
He made a costly error for the first goal of the game and he struggled to recover after that. Considering he has barely played this season, though, there will obviously be some rust to him. It is undeniable that he needs time and support, but whether he will get that is another thing entirely.

Milan management including Furlani, Ibra Moncada need to stop watching YouTube highlights of players that want to sign. They are not geniuses and they don’t have a clue on building a winning team.
We could have signed Granite Xhaka for 10-15m and use the money we spent on Jashari, Ricci, and Nkunku to buy Oshimen and Javi Guerra who would have been the perfect replacement for Rabiot.
I agree except for the Granit Xhaka, you don’t need another player in this position, Modric and Fofana was good enough. They should have spent more in mezzala positions and got someone on the level of Rabiot (not ask Fofana to score 10 goals, he can’t) and a striker. That team would not have a problem scoring goals. Milan has 4 DM players with Modric, Fofana, Jashari and Ricci in the team, and one mezzalla in Rabiot (ok 2 but RLC is injured all the time and not in shape).
Everyone is now starting to be a problem. We bought players because they were good in their position at their respective club. Now they are playing out of their positions and we expect them to be good in a different league. Ricci should play as Modric’s backup and Jashari should be Rabiot’s. We need someone on Fafana’s side then we need to let player play in their most natural positions. We need to get back to 4231 again which we had won the league with. Sign Palestri, Gila, Fagioli and Bellanova. Get competitive backups for Pulisic and leao and get Camarda to fight with Gimenez. We could also look to bring back Reijnders and perhaps get Zaniolo. We would be competitive again. Maybe get John Stones? Get rid of Nkunku, RLC, Estupinan and all those on loan except maybe Okafor who is doing well at leeds or cash in ?
? Jashari always played as deep lying playmaker, exactly what he did yesterday?
This team has no rhythm playing together. They have no understanding of where another player is going to be. Jashari looked good before the injury. He looked tough. This team has not improved during the course of the season and this is on Mr “Win by a Nose’ Allegri. Juve fans are laughing and saying ‘I told you so.’ I also told you so. I also predicted that Pulisic would be gone because Allegri doesn’t use wingers. This may now include Leao leaving.
Pulisic is not really a typical winger. He is more of a 2nd striker than a winger, so Allegri not using wingers shouldn’t affect Pulisic at all
Except Allegri isn’t using a striker for Pulisic to play off of. So yes. His game is drastically affected without a true target man.
He lacks character and ambition from what I see. Talking in the press how you’re a big fan and all is great for Instagram, however you need to show it on the field. For example, when you lose the ball in a dangerous position, you don’t stay on the floor and whine like a b*tch but you get up and run to correct your mistake. Modric is 41 and he does that every single time. Jashari is technically great, and has good vision, and that’s it, I don’t see any other great attribute he has. Look at Kobe Mainoo at United. The kid is benched for half a year, plans to leave the club – manager is changed, he gives him a chance, he plays world class in the first game, second, and keeps it up. Jashari is a 40m€ signing that needs 2 years of pampering and proving to everyone he is not good enough for Milan. To me it was obvious last season when I watched him at Brugge.
The FIFA career mode expert is here. Everyone applaud
Eddie hhhh i give up on max long ago the guy is real entertainer
Ashraf, you have trouble with writing a coherent sentence…People like you find everything funny and entertaining. A small hint – has nothing do with me.
Oh, I didn’t recognize you Pep Guardiola. Thank you for joining the comments section.
Okay guys, I am still against some arguments that are in the comments and have no logic, but im joining you in others.
You were probably right about the allegri ball. I was backging the allegris system because simply the results were good, but last games were really terrible to watch, thats true.
So I am breaking all my rules and posting my ideas. And now I too dream of some coach more hungry for goals. I dream of an 4231 formation, like como has. With ricci and jashari both as double pivots. I still want to believe in these 2 guys, they are sympatic and deffinitelly have something in them. But none of them is good as a solo n.6, they are not solo deep lying playmakers, nor the solo Rijkards CDM. I think they are made for the double pivot and the 4231 can work great with addition of the right back.
I do not want to see jashari and ricci flop so easily, because, they were like our attackers, just dumped by the allegris system, and I am joining you guys to blame solely him for this mess.
I would sacrifice the saelemakers for this and get a proper right back.

+ modric and some youngsters to broaden the squad, but I believe next season modric should not be the main man, but only an addition.
And finally I would sell saelamakers, estupinan, loftus/fofana and personally, even I included him in the squads, I think it is time for leao too 🙁
… but this all and the 4231 is just a dream created by an unprofessional fan.
It looks good but I don’t agree about Modric. He is literally the only winner in this team. Other players don’t have half the titles he has alone. Nobody else won the CL, he is a silent leader that runs more than half of the team at 40. He is 1st in many stats categories in serie A (example line breaking passes or accurate long balls) and is in top 3 for key passes, which means he is vital for this team.
Modric – Fofana would be better probably, with Rabiot ahead. Ricci and Jashari can play in cup matches and rest the first 11 until they start showing more. The rest I agree, if they can sell Saelemakers for 30M, add extra 10 and get Palestra it should be a no brainer (even Ahanor would be great).
A double pivot of a 41 year old Modric and space cadet Fofana is a great idea
Ok. It’s like you are blind and/or didn’t watch a single Milan game this season. If you did you’re just a clown. Put the red nose on and beat it.
You lack understanding of setups and the difference of playing in the middle of a midfield in a 352 set up and playing in a double pivot in a 4231 setup and how much more space a 41 year old has to cover, especially when his partner is non other than Fofana.
You don’t have to put a red nose.
You do know Koko the clown was one of the first cartoon characters in history? You picked the perfect name. 🙂 “You lack understanding of setups and the difference of playing in the middle of a midfield in a 352 set up and playing in a double pivot in a 4231 setup” Sure, anyone that doesn’t think the same as you lacks the understanding. Once again, Coco the clown.
I think it is. You can still defend in 451 shape, but based on this season, I think modric can be put also into 442 defending system (common with 4231 formation), and he will do his job.
But there should be a competent coach to decide this, for example also Rabiot is playing one of the pivots in french national, and he is great there.
Pulisic won a CL title with CFC.
You are right, I forgot he actually played that season, the year after he had negligible minutes, I don’t count it if you were just on the bench.
He was an important player scoring a goal against RM that moved them forward. So, he wasn’t on the bench. Sorry you are wrong again, Max. But I’m use to that.
Try these facts on Max: Total Goals: 5 Notable Strikes: Scored in both legs of the 2021/22 Champions League last-16 tie against LOSC Lille.2021 Semifinal: Scored a vital goal against Real Madrid in the first leg of the 2020/21 Champions League semi-final.Knockout Impact: Led Chelsea with three goal involvements (one goal, two assists) during the knockout stages of their 2021 title-winning season.
Oh, and I guess he was on the bench when he was fouled 11 times by Porto in a CL game, the most since Messi.
It’s ok Jim, it isn’t my fault you can’t read with understanding. I said exactly the same thing but you need help to understand. Do you want me to explain?
21/22 – He played about 4 games in minutes and was one of the better Chelsea players. Year after barely one game. If they won the year after I wouldn’t really value his contribution as the year before.
Teasing with understanding is called reading comprehension. Just like you claim Koko is the first cartoon character, max is the first name for a dog. You also picked the perfect name 😂
To quote you Max. He was on the bench. I understand you perfectly. Maybe you are confuse. Yes, the next year Tuchel bought Sterling and benched him. But for the CL run he was also an important player. I will add that CFC in part got into the CL because of Giroud and Pulisic. My son is a big CFC fan so I know about them, which you obviously don’t. But don’t let that stop you.
“You are right, I forgot he actually played that season, the year after he had negligible minutes, I don’t count it if you were just on the bench.”
What does this say? THE YEAR AFTER! Are you all literal id*ots?
Just on the bench? Puli scored in the semifinals which was instrumental for Chelsea to reach the final. It is absolutely right to list Pulisic as a winner of the UEFA Champions League given that his contribution was significant and decisive.
As for Modric, I agree with you. He is a winner and a proven world-class champion, and remains quite good despite his age, and when he got injured, I anticipated that Milan would struggle even more in the last four games, and we saw it already in the first one of those four games. I fear for the UCL spot because we play significantly worse without Modric (and we weren’t that good to start with; even worse without Modric).
Some people don’t realize that more than an Allegri revolution, we improved in the first half of the season as compared to last season, mostly because of Modric and Rabiot. (Well, Allegri did have the merit of contributing to Rabiot’s acceptance of Milan’s offer – but it would never have happened if Rabiot had not fallen in disgrace due to a fist fight with a companion – the luckiest fist fight of them all, from Milan’s standpoint).
Now Modric is injured, and Rabiot seems a bit less engaged (likely fears injury right before the World Cup, spooked by the lesions suffered by some important players in his and other national teams).
Result, no Modric, Rabiot not brillian = trouble.
“Krunićs Heir”. You need to gain about 70 IQ for what you attempted. That was just sad.
You are right about the modric. For me the three best players of this season are Rabiot, Modric and Pavlo in this order. And you are right about the fact that modric is essential for the success, but I think it is also a little bit dangerous to have a 41 years old to HAVE TO play every game to win, against big teams or against smaller teams.
It is based on the fact that I prefer to play the best 11 when you can, and rest them by subbing them as early as possible after the game is secured, but what I thought with modric was, that the best 11 should be with or without him. Like you have to win against verona even without modric playing Ricci – Jashari, and of course against Inter, modric (and raboit) is an undoubtable starter ….every other can be this season easily benched.
Of course he shouldn’t play every game, but that is valid even for Rabiot or any other player. This season it was different without CL as you have a full week to rest every time. Next year it needs to be managed much better when you play 2 games a week.
Yes, Luigi, I already replied to Jim “You are right, I forgot he actually played that season, the year after he had negligible minutes, I don’t count it if you were just on the bench.”
I was thinking they won it the year after.
Pulisic won the CL with Chelsea.
Italian media is becoming as toxic as British media. Ever since that lost in copa Italia and Santi Injuries we should have changed tactics. Blaming Jashari and giving grace to Tomori is crazy work. It’s like those fan and media never learn until after the fact. CDK is a good example. Let’s be harsh instead of being patient while the kid gets limited playing time. Player sharpness comes with gameplay not sitting on the bench for extended period of after a lengthy injury
This is awful journalism. Blaming Jadhari for the Allegri-made mess against Sassuolo is CRAZY levels of stupidity. Get a grip, writers… youre becoming as ridiculous and unserious as epl news
Jashari shouldn’t be the only one to be blamed, of course. But the fact that Allegri and all other players (maybe except for Pavlovic) had despicable performances against Sassuolo, does not cancel the fact that Jashari was ALSO very bad in that game. Not only his failure losing the ball in midfield (and not standing up and tracking back the player that had just robbed him of the ball) directly facilitated Sassuolo’s first goal (making the whole defense be caught out of position), but also, after that, Jashari continued to play badly and to misplace many passes.
It is absolutely NOT a “crazy level of stupidity” to ALSO blame Jashari for this loss, because two wrongs don’t make one right. Sure, Allegri was at fault, and many (almost all) other players were also at fault… but it doesn’t cancel the FACT that Jashari ALSO performed horribly therefore it is fair game to criticize him.
Enough of this 3-5-2 stupidity we need to line up and play the 4-2-3-1 and I said it before our problem is wingers and attacking midfielders let’s return pulisic as attacking midfielder and leao as wingers acmilan are attacking team not defensive we don’t play with 3 midfielders we play with two pivot and a front line attacking midfielder
M.maignan
Athakame,Gabbia, Pavlovic, batasaghi
Rabiot,jashari
Nkunku,pulisic, leao
Fullkrug
And Acmilan doesn’t mark really like that they press opponent to weekend their midfielders Allegri should stop this drama otherwise acmilan should bring in Vincenzo Italiano who know how to get the job done.
Furlani🐷…😂😂😂
Sell him for 20m now or will be 10 at september
The guy is below par and has has to go, there is no question about it.
Off to Juve.
Jashari has been a flop. I figured that out after about 3-4 appearances.
