AC Milan could choose to replace midfielder Franck Kessie with someone over 30, according to one journalist.
Recent reports have suggested that Milan are in talks with Monaco over a deal for Kessie, and that the club are lining up some of his potential replacements.
The Ligue 1 club are seemingly keen to pursue a deal for the 22-year-old late in the window, however given that there is little time to source a replacement, it will be a difficult swoop to pull off.
Now, journalist Carlo Pellegatti has provided an update on the situation via his YouTube channel.
“There is an interesting offer for Kessie; it will be necessary to see if the player will accept the offer of Monaco, he said.
“Milan rightly do not want to lose a midfielder and then go looking for a replacement: they want to find the replacement first.
“And in the replacement Milan will look for an expert. It will not be a young player: it will be an experienced player, maybe a player over 30.
“Milan, after putting so much emphasis on youth wants to add more experience. So Kessie goes it will mean that Milan has already found the alternative and it will be an experienced player.
“There has been talk of Victor Wanyama, who has done well with Tottenham. I don’t know if it will be him, but it will be an experienced player.”
