Journalist Fabio Caressa has challenged AC Milan midfielder to start showing the kind of form that saw him labelled a ‘phenom’ in Brazil.
The 23-year-old joined Milan for €35million from Brazilian side Flamengo back in January and is still adjudged by many to be finding his feet in Italian football.
Despite being with the Rossoneri for just 10 months, Paqueta has already worked under three different managers and has switched between the midfield and playing as a winger, something which won’t help his consistency.
Since his move, Paqueta has scored just one goal but Caressa – while talking to Sky Italia (via Calciomercato.com) after Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Lecce – backed Paqueta to find form again.
“I know Paquetà is still doing very little to justify his price tag,” he said.
“And yet, if you talk with the Brazilians or with people who have seen him play in Brazil, they will tell you that he is a phenomenon.
“We haven’t seen him producing that kind of performance here yet but I think with time, he will improve.”
