Journalist claims Chelsea have bid €12m for Strasbourg star but Milan have the advantage

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea have entered the race to land AC Milan target Mohamed Simakan and have made an official bid to Strasbourg, it is claimed.

It is no secret that Milan are in the market for a new centre-back and that they have made Simakan their priority target having been in talks over a deal during the summer window.

Those contacts have resumed and reports from a number of different outlets had suggested that the Rossoneri are moving towards striking a deal at the second attempt with the Ligue 1 club.

Le10Sport (via RouteOneFootball) are reporting that Chelsea have made contacts with Strasbourg regarding the signing of Simakan as they look to bolster their back line. While Milan remain also very keen on the defender, the French club want more than €15m which is making things difficult to close.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur on Twitter, Chelsea have offered €12m for Simakan. Despite this offer though, the advantage is still with the Rossoneri.
