AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez will not recover from his injury in time to face Udinese in the opening game of the season, it is claimed.
The full-back arrived from Real Madrid earlier in the summer and had impressed in the preseason games in which he did feature – including scoring in a 1-1 behind-closed-doors game against Novara.
However, the were nervy signs in the International Champions Cup game against Bayern Munich in Kansas City when he was unable to walk off the field.
Despite many fearing a long-term problem, it quickly became apparent that the Spaniard won’t be out as long as many had feared.
Instead, the question then became whether he would recover in time for the game against Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on August 25, with reports suggesting it would be a race against time.
The medical staff understandably will not take risks with Hernandez, and now SpazioMilan‘s Nicholas Reitano has confirmed he will not be back in time for the curtain raiser in Udine.
