Journalist claims Milan-linked Santos striker has signed a pre-contract with Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to have missed out on the signing of Santos striker Kaio Jorge who is instead heading for a Serie A rival, according to one journalist.

There is a lot of speculation in the media linking the 19-year-old striker with a move to Italy, given that he could arrive in a cut-price deal because his contract with Santos is set to expire in December and there is nothing to suggest he will renew.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) recently reported that the agent of Jorge was due in Italy with Milan and Napoli interested in signing the teenager. They added that for the time being it seems the Neapolitan club are more interested in the player and, through some intermediaries, have sent an offer of €8m.

The Brazilian journalist Vagner Frederico wrote the following on his Twitter profile: “It is increasingly clear that striker Kaio Jorge will not renew his contract with Santos and will leave the club at the end of the year for free. A source connected to the player guarantees that he has already signed a pre-contract with Napoli.”

Therefore, if Frederico’s report is to be believe, there is a pre-contract between Kaio Jorge and Napoli which means he would join them on a free transfer January 2022. The only money to be paid would be commissions to the agents, in addition to the salary.

  1. This is why our opponents grow and we are not. We buy players over 30 years and play them loads of money and sell youngsters at bargain price.

    1. It’s actually good for his career that he’s not coming. Pioli will likely play Samu as top 9 over him. Don’t stress yourself out over Milan and their illogical choices
