Journalist claims Milan midfielder wants stay as club prepare new long-term deal with pay rise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to agree a deal with midfielder Franck Kessie which would see him land a considerable salary increase, a report claims.

Kessie has had ups and downs since joining from Atalanta back in summer 2017, but over the last few months he has really begun to develop at a staggering rate, forming a frightening double pivot with Ismael Bennacer.

Since the beginning of 2020, Kessie has become the soul of the Rossoneri midfield and has finally become one of the best midfielders in Serie A as his potential suggested that he could be.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter, Milan are working to extend Kessie’s current contract, which expires in 2022. They are working to reach an agreement over a long-term contract in the coming weeks.

Not only that, but the Ivorian is in line for a big pay rise from his current €2.2m net per season, as the tweet stating that he will receive between €3.2-3.5m per year. The player for his part wants to remain.
