Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market and with the summer window around the corner, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working hard. In addition to Florian Thauvin, they have another free signing in mind.
It was reported yesterday, by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), that the Rossoneri have taken a step back in their pursuit of Thauvin. His contract with Marseille will expire in the summer and he would have been a great addition, considering his stats.
However, Milan are evaluating other profiles and one of them is Otavio. The attacking midfielder, who plays for Porto, will be available for free this summer and Portuguese journalist David Pereira (Diário de Notícias) spoke about the potential move to Milan.
“He could be a good signing for AC Milan, although I wouldn’t dare to say that Otavio is stronger than Calhanoglu. Otavio will expire at the end of the season and is one of Porto’s best players.
“He is a technical player but he is also aggressive, he can playing in different positions, also in midfield and on the flanks. Anyone who catches him will make a great deal,” he told MilanNews.
It remains to be seen if Maldini and Massara will continue to pursue the Brazilian, who turned 26 last month. This season, he has bagged three goals and assisted an additional four in the Portuguese league.
